How did this come about? We’ve already talked about how there has been growing concerns from the political class about using Chinese-manufactured drones. Well, Texas-based Anzu Robotics has worked around these issues with its Raptor series, manufacturing the hardware components in Malaysia while ensuring that all software development and data hosting is handled in the United States by Aloft Technologies, which is based in Syracuse, New York State. After assembly, the drones are shipped to the United States for firmware installation and quality checks.
Anzu has entered into a licensing agreement with DJI, which allows them to use DJI's platforms to enhance their own drones used by police. This partnership includes custom features like high-resolution cameras and extended flight capabilities, ensuring that Anzu maintains full control over their software and data security despite the hardware collaboration. Plus all the data collected by the Raptor drones is securely stored on US-based servers, encrypted with AES-256 to ensure that your information is protected against unauthorized access.
The Raptor series was launched in April 2024 to provide an alternative for those looking for secure, reliable, and technologically advanced drones without the geopolitical baggage often associated with drones from certain regions. It's reengineered from DJI Mavic 3 series, and includes the Raptor and the Raptor Thermal, the latter of which has made it to this year’s top picks for police UAVs.
