COMPONENTS OF THE DFR 2.0 PROGRAM | SOFTWARE

Remote Operator (RO)
Controls the drone using a PlayStation 5 controller or a keyboard through a web browser. Both automated and manual flights are supported, features address/GPS search, and adjustable video and thermal settings. Manage multiple launch points, no-fly zones, emergency landing options, and track duration at the station.

Remote Pilot in Command (RPIC)
Manages the handoff to the Remote Operator (RO) for all operations, maintaining direct drone control via a standard controller from any launch site —like rooftops or fire stations.

Create Unique Site Profiles
Customizable options include automatic recording on takeoff, adjustments for elevation, geofencing for restricted areas and safe RTH, and designated emergency landing sites.

Call for Service (CFS) Functionality
Integrates into your existing dispatch systems. Initiate and support multiple CFS during flight, with all data recorded in flight logs.

Operational Support
Send real-time video footage to your command center for law enforcement and fire department operations, from crime scene analysis, traffic accident response, to search and rescue missions.

  • END-TO-END ENCRYPTED

Keep your operational data safe and secure, where you want it.

  • FAST AIRCRAFT LAUNCHES

Fast Aircraft Launches: Send your drone where you need it, when you need it — in minutes.

  • DATA AND VIDEO SHARING

Easily disseminate visual data quickly and effectively to all stakeholders. Low latency video supported for an unlimited number of aircraft and devices.

  • INTEGRATED OPERATIONS HUB

Seamless integration into existing systems to ensure everything works together — from automated license plate readers, fire alarms, to dispatch services. We can develop a custom solution tailored to meet every DFR need.

  • NAVIGATION AND CONTROL

Fly aircraft manually or autonomously (including flying automatically to target location and switching to manual controls once there).

  • SAFETY OF MANNED ASSETS

Detect and avoid functionality allows the aircraft to respond to both obstacles and other aircrafts in the area to ensure no two aircrafts collide.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Drone as a First Responder (DFR) 2.0 Program?

The DFR 2.0 Program is an emergency UAV dispatch program that equips public safety agencies with a complete hardware and software bundle for autonomous drone-assisted responses through hardware solutions like DJI docking stations. This is a shift from the conventional manually controlled systems, that provides a  more scalable and efficient solution in handling emergencies.

How does the DFR 2.0 system work?

With DJI police drones for instance, the system utilizes the DJI Dock 2, the Ground-based Detect-and-Avoid system, coupled with DroneSense software, to facilitate fully autonomous operations. This setup allows drones to take off, land, and charge without manual intervention. The system also includes the option for remote piloting for police departments that require extra operational support for their in-house teams.

What makes the DFR 2.0 different from traditional drone services?

Unlike traditional services that require manned operation, the DFR 2.0 offers complete autonomy when managing and deploying the drones, with the option to scale up using the remote pilot services. This flexibility reduces dependency on extensive personnel resources, enhancing operational cost-effectiveness.

Can the DFR 2.0 system be customized to fit our specific needs?

Absolutely. We provide options to integrate different docking solutions and software adjustments to meet specific operational requirements, ensuring that every agency can maximize the benefits of the system.

What are the main benefits of implementing the DFR 2.0 system in our operations?

Agencies benefit from improved response times, enhanced situational awareness, reduced manpower costs, and the ability to perform complex operations safely and efficiently. The system's autonomy also reduces the cognitive load on operators, allowing them to focus on strategic decision-making.

What training is provided for the DFR 2.0 system?

Comprehensive training sessions are provided for all aspects of operation, from basic handling and regulatory compliance to advanced troubleshooting. Training can be conducted onsite or through virtual platforms to ensure proficiency in operating the system.

Is ongoing support available after installation?

Yes, we offer 24/7 customer support to assist with any issues, questions, or updates needed post-deployment, ensuring your operations continue smoothly without interruption.

Are there any hidden costs associated with the DFR 2.0 system?

All costs are transparently provided upfront, including product purchase, setup and remote operation fees. Our pricing strategy is designed to be clear and straightforward to aid budget planning.

What steps are involved in the deployment of the DFR 2.0 system?

Deployment involves system setup, software installation, initial testing, and staff training. We focus on ensuring that every component is optimized for immediate use, with ongoing assessments to ensure system integrity and performance.
